Writing at Oxford: Creative Writing in the City of Dreaming Spires
Graduate Liberal Studies student, Melody Hunter-Pillion is currently enrolled in LS 280.67 - Creative Writing Summer School at Oxford University. Melody is chronicling her time at Oxford on her blog, Writing at Oxford: Creative Writing in the City of Dreaming Spires.
In preparation for this exciting intellectual experience Melody wrote on her blog, "I'm studying abroad at Oxford University. You're thinking it's the stuff of 19 or 20 year olds. Right? Not anymore. I'm 47 years old and venturing across the Pond for my first study abroad experience. As more people are returning to school for advanced degrees, study abroad programs are an option for mature professionals...Studying at Oxford University...is a dream come true. This blog will attempt to capture a glimpse of the three-week Creative Writing Summer Study Abroad program Duke University [Graduate Liberal Studies students] may select as part of the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies degree."
Melody and seven GLS students and one GLS alum are attending one of four GLS courses offered in Oxford this summer as part of their Graduate Liberal Studies curriculum. Bookmark this page and follow Melody as she immerses herself in three-weeks of Creative Writing in Oxford.
